It's curious that the people who protest the most against the use of AI tend to be people who don't even know how to hold a pencil. I imagine it's just frustration (oh, a machine does what I will never be able to do, I hate it!). And as you explain very well, they are very quick to say "you're not an artist!" without knowing anything about you. I know quite a few people in DA who are now dedicated to AI who can make better art than "this" with their eyes closed and holding the pencil with their mouth. but hey... they are no artists cause they are trying new things.
